Experience

Graphic Art

Graphic Artist, Slesinger, Yaranoff & Associates Advertising. Inc., Phoenix, Arizona. Member AAAA. 1979-1981. Position included concept development from sketchy layouts to final art. Client presentations. Finished products included 4-color, 2-color, and black-and-white ads for newspaper and magazine publications, posters, multi-page and multi-fold brochures and pamphlets, billboard art, letterheads, business cards, and other printed materials. Agency employed 4-5 artists who worked under the direction of the Art Director. Clients included Ramada Inns, Century Bank, KOY/KQYT. Wickenberg Inn. Gregory’s Restaurants, Granada Royale Hometels, Triad, and the Phoenix Open.

Chief Designer and Administrative Assistant for Adtec Advertising Co., Greeley, Colorado. 1973-1977. Mechanical illustrations for manufacture of electric plexiglas and neon signs. Creation of graphic images for customers and adjusting existing logos or trademarks for sign restrictions or needs. Drawings were used both by sales personnel and shop production. Also handled all office duties including full bookkeeping.

Free-lance artist, 1977-1979. Designed and produced brochures, newspaper ads, logos. posters, letterheads, and other printed materials. This included layouts, ink comprehensives, paste up. writing copy, photography, overlays, and illustrations.

1972, graphic artist. Graphics Unlimited Eaton, Colorado. Duties included paste up, darkroom, plate making, flat making, camera.

1978, graphic artist, Empire Printing, Boulder, Colorado. Duties included paste up, typesetting on Compugraphic Jr., shooting PMTs.

1969, Illustrator Assistant, GS-4, Federal Aviation Administration. Washington. D.C. Duties included preparing visual aids, such as vu-graphs and flip charts, for govt. presentations.

1999 Watercolor painting of Millennium Holiday Tree chosen to represent “Colorado’s Gift to the Nation” project for the People’s Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. Donated artwork was used on a variety of products, notecards, T-shirts, posters, etc, to raise funds for the project.

1994 – present. Self employed artist, fabricating, distributing, and selling reproductions of own artwork.

Creating and maintaining a website. Doing all record keeping, taxes, the advertising for own business.

Maintaining databases of work that is available in numerous outlets. Photographing work.

1998 – present. Doing publicity, designing marketing materials for the Spanish Peaks Arts Council.

Scheduling meetings and running the meetings for the Board of Directors and the Gallery and Exhibit

Committee as well as other meetings. Keeping current databases of members, organizations, artists,

and publicity contacts. Printing mailing labels. Creating entry forms and posters. Compiling a new

Gallery brochure for each new show. Maintaining the website. Writing Grants. Photos for website.

Answering emails. Managing Facebook page. Producing the quarterly newsletter and emailing it to

members. Printing newsletters to mail to members with no email address.

1988 -1993. Manager/Owner of Horizon Travel, Longmont, CO. Duties included bookkeeping, including payroll, ARC report, taxes, monthly statements and daily records/bank deposits. Hiring and training of new agents. All travel agent skills, including reservations through CRS with System One, selling vacation packages and cruises, all paperwork required. Began agency bookkeeping in 1985. Began learning agent skills in 1986.
