2017 Summer Workshops

Basic Drawing–June 28 & 29–9:30-Noon & 1:30-4 pm both days $100 

at SPACe.  Materials List 

Learn how to draw by learning to see. Drawing skills build your confidence and provide you a calming, inexpensive hobby in a chaotic world. Draw for the fun of it or for planning other applications, such as painting or sculpture. Optional materials fee $15. Two weeks advance notice required for materials.

Basic Watercolor–July 19 & 20–9:30-Noon & 1:30-4 pm both days $100 

at SPACe.  Materials list 

Learn to loosen up while preserving your love of detail. Watercolor’s natural spontaneity can free to you to enjoy the serendipitous while manipulating the medium for your own purposes. Basic watercolor techniques as well as how to build strong compositions, using color temperatures and understanding values will be included. Optional materials fee $20. Two weeks advance notice required for materials.

Kathy Hill studied painting at the University of Illinois College of Fine and Applied Arts in Champaign-Urbana, graduating from the American University, Washington D.C. with a BA in Art Education. Her love of the Spanish Peaks region can be seen in her many watercolors of the area. She has received numerous awards and her work is included in many private and corporate collections.
